Gay West Rides Again, April 25

TUCSON (Observer Update) - Wingspan's outdoor fun fund raiser, Gay West, is now held in the cooler month of April at Old Tucson Movie Studios, 201 S Kinney Rd., Tucson. Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 at the gate. Special VIP tickets, which include VIP seating and a reception with Lady Bunny, Neil Giuliano (former mayor of Tempe and GLAAD executive director) and Ruthie & Connie, and Lucinda Holliday are $50. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, and continue until the last cowboy and cowgirl have hung up their chaps.

Gay West 2009 is bigger, better, and cooler than ever, with an entertainment lineup that features outrageous drag shows by two female impersonator icons: New York City's nationally-recognized Lady Bunny, and Tucson's own inimitable Lucinda Holliday.

A special VIP ticket ($50) includes a hosted reception with Humanitarian Award winners Neil Guiliano and "Ruthie and Connie" (as seen in "Every Room in the House" on LOGO) as well as International drag star Lady Bunny and Tucson's own Lucinda Holliday, and VIP seating for the shows. Tickets are $18 at the gate and just $15 in advance, before April 22nd at Wingspan (425 E 7th St) or Antigone Books (411 N 4th Ave at 7th St.) or online at the GayWest2009.com.
