TEMPE (Observer Update) - As we reflect on the results of the 2008 elections, there is much to celebrate and many challenges still left to overcome in the state of Arizona. We all have been energized, and Wingspan, Equality Arizona and our statewide partners want to help put that energy to use so that we can affect change across our state and create a safer Arizona for everyone.
Through a statewide collaboration, Equality Arizona, Wingspan, Prescott Pride Center and The Amancio Project would like to invite you to a day-long town hall, Saturday, December 6, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Arizona State University, Life Science Building - A, Room 191 University Drive and Mill Avenue, which will provide a safe space in which to debrief about the 2008 elections, nationally and locally, as well as create a pathway to future work throughout Arizona which ensures that the upcoming legislative session will be one of change and equality.
Featured will be guest speakers; breakout groups on specific equality topics; political analysis workshops; community organizing training and much more. Please sign up today (online at eqfed.org/ahrf/events/townhall08/details.tcl)to be a part of this important day. Let's take our anger and excitement created by this year's elections and put that energy into advancing LGBT civil rights in Arizona.
