Republicans Don't Like Mothers

On Wednesday May 7, the House took up the seemingly uncontroversial H. Res. 1113, “Celebrating the role of mothers in the United States and supporting the goals and ideals of Mother’s Day.” The resolution initially passed 412 to 0, until Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-KS) rose in protest and was joined by 177 of his fellow Republican colleagues in the U.S. House.

To note, Arizona House Members Jeff Flake, Rick "Soon to be Spending Time with his lawyers" Renzi, John Shaddegg and Trent Franks expressed their hatred of motherhood by voting against this bill, as did its sponsor, Jeff Fortenberry of Nebraska.

Democratic Arizona Representatives Gabrielle Giffords, Ed Pastor, Raul Grijalva and Harry Mitchell voted for the bill. Democrats love their mothers!

Jeff Flake's hatred of American mothers goes further, as I have detailed on my blog.

He excoriated his congressional colleagues in February for passing a bill that included some measly funds for yesterday's centennial of Mother's Day at the International Mother's Day shrine in Grafton, West Virginia. He ridiculed the appropriation, calling it "the mother of all earmarks."

Jeff Flake proves even more with his votes against every proposal to help mothers and their families that he has some kind of deep-seated hatred against mothers.

Let's hope moms will take their revenge on Jeff "Throw Momma From the Train" Flake in this November's election.
