Something You Can Really Take Pride in This June!

In honor of June Pride month, I would like to ask you a question that has been weighing heavily on my mind.

What would Southern Arizona be like for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people if Wingspan weren't here?
Matt Eon Youth
Matt, a member of our Eon Youth program (pictured at right), has this to say about Wingspan:

I was alone and didn't have anywhere to go. I told the staff at Eon and they helped me find a place to live. Eon has been my personal support for the past eight years. I don't know where I'd be without it.

Click here to donate today in support of youth like Matt.

Imagine if Matt had no safe and accepting place to go when he was teased and tormented out of school and became homeless at 18.

What would have happened to him? Given the tragic statistics about homeless LGBT youth, I don't even want to think about it.

I see Matt nearly every day at the center, and I can't imagine him as anything but the happy young man preparing to attend Pima Community College so he can become a social worker and help other LGBT youth like him.

Matt's story is an incredible example of how Wingspan helps and protects those most vulnerable in our community, inspiring them to spread their own wings and fly higher in life than they imagined possible.

Please make an online donation today in support of Wingspan's critical, lifesaving services.

There are still too many youth like Matt who need Wingspan, and I am fighting day and night to prevent the changes wrought by this terrible economic recession from affecting our youth program.

However, without your financial support, we will have to reduce our youth program staff and the number of hours our youth center is open.

Everyone at Wingspan is committed to ensuring your donation provides the best available support as efficiently as possible. We have made painful decisions since November to make cuts and reduce administrative overhead. while preserving our core programs and services. Yet, this recession is still threatening cuts to far more than our youth program.

I have a dream this Pride of raising $2,100 online, in honor of Wingspan's 21st birthday and with your help, I know we can do it!

Thank you so much for your financial support. Together we will ensure that Wingspan continues to porvide critical, lifesaving services to our community.

That is something we can truly take pride in.
