Letter to the Editor

Editor:

Has the AZ State Government lost its mind? It's always been about the money-mostly from taxes-but don't they under- stand that people/families coming to AZ look for employment, housing and good schools for their kids.

There have been so many studies that show that a smaller student to teacher ratio produces better functioning kids and yet the AZ State Government wants to take money and teachers away from the schools! Why would any family want to raise their kids in a State that puts so little value on education?

It's these families who buy homes, cars, groceries, clothes, books, supplies and a myriad of other goods and services. HELLO - tax base? How about restructuring the school system and reducing the multitude of districts and the top-heavy, bureaucratic layers for starters. Be creative in attracting families to come to or stay in our State! Education is a necessity not a pet project!!
