As a result of our main computer crashing at 1:15 a.m. last Wednesday morning, we were unable to transmit our ‘New Year’s Issue’ to the printer and get it delivered on Wednesday, December 31, as would be done normally.
And, because of the holiday, the printer could not get the paper printed until Friday! It was decided not to publish two papers with less that a week in between so we cancelled the New Year’s issue altogether.
This is one of a very few times in the past thirty-some years that we were late in our weekly Wednesday delivery.
With this issue number 1276 begins another string of Observer issues each week and hopefully this digital world of modern electronics will not interrupt us again. Thank you readers and advertisers for your patience.
