Day of Service

By Barbara McCullough-Jones (Executive Director of Equality Arizona)

We are at the beginning of a new era. Change is happening in Washington, and it is up to US to make sure change happens here in Arizona. I urge all of you to participate in the National Day of Service on Monday January 19. President-elect Obama was right to call us into service on the same day we are recognizing a great civil rights hero, Martin Luther King, Jr.

Please take a few hours of your time to give back to the community in any way you feel appropriate. I know Equality Arizona would simply not exist were in not for the commitment and passion demonstrated by our volunteers and supporters on a daily basis.

Let a day of service on Monday be the dawn of your renewed involvement in the quest for equality in Arizona. It takes all of us, standing together, to make a difference. Working together, we can make a difference in Arizona: a difference for our families, for our lives, our loves, and leave a legacy of equality for generations that follow.

I look forward to seeing you at upcoming programs and events this year. Lobby Day is just around the corner. Click here for details and to RSVP for the day www.progressivelobbyday.com.

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and commitment. We couldn’t do this without YOU. We invite you to meet your legislators to make your voice heard on the issues. Join us on February 3rd for Progressive Lobby at the Arizona State Capitol.

Sincerely,

Barbara McCullough-Jones

Executive Director
