Musical Potpourri Benefitting TIHAN’s Poz Café, November 9

TUCSON (Observer Update) - On Sunday, November 9, 3:00 p.m. at Lutheran Church in the Foothills, 5102 N. Craycroft, TIHAN presents an afternoon of special music open to the public. The 9th annual "Musical Potpourri," a benefit concert for Poz Café, the monthly lunch program for people living with HIV/AIDS is an exciting concert featuring the rich musical diversity of Emmanuel Baptist Church Worship Team, Desert Voices, the Prince Chapel Praise Team, and Reveille Men's Chorus.

For every dollar raised through this event, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will provide matching funds (up to $1,600), so a $20 purchase of two tickets will provide a great concert, and a $40 contribution to TIHAN. This event is sponsored by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Lutheran Church of the Foothills. A reception with hors d'oeuvres will follow the concert. Refreshments are provided by Trader Joe's, Sunflower Market, Basha's, and Einstein's Bagels.

The Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Network (TIHAN) is the largest privately-funded provider of support services for people living with HIV in the state of Arizona. TIHAN’s Poz Café lunch program is the largest regular gathering place for people living with HIV/AIDS in Southern Arizona. Poz Café has served over 10,000 meals to more than 500 people living with HIV/AIDS. In 2004, Poz Café was named as one of the three most innovative non-profit organizations among small non-profits in Pima County by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. Poz Café is a collaborative program, partnering TIHAN with other care providers in the community. For more information, call (520) 299-9631.
