Desert Voices, Tucson’s premier GLBTS chorus, celebrates it’s 20th season as their 50 voices unite under the direction of Chris Tackett with our biggest and brightest entertainment season ever. Grace St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will resonate with festive holiday favorites December 6-7 as they present our season opener, “Down the Chimney.” Tucson’s own rock star, Namoli Brennet, will join us and share a special gift, the debut of a new song written especially for Desert Voices 20th season.
On February 7, 2009, make your bid count as the Historic Y Hall is transformed for Desert Voices annual Cabaret and Silent Auction. Always a little big naughty and a whole lot of fun, Desert Voices is also pleased to add special guests, Lisa Otey and Diane Van Deurzen. Complimentary hors d’eouvres and spirits serve to make this a do not miss event. Namoli joins Desert Voices once again for our 2009 finale, “Out and Proud”, a retrospective celebrating the best of the 20 glorious years. Music from 25 years of GALA will also be featured as we draw another fabulous season to a close at The Proscenium Theatre, Pima Community College West on April 18-19.
Desert Voices extends an invitation to all friends, fans and supporters of the last 20 years to make themselves a part of our Platinum Season. Tickets are priced at 2 for $20 for December and April, $30 each for February. Special Season Ticket Packages are available. All shows promise to be sellouts so make your reservations early. And don’t forget to check out the website, desertvoices.org for the most up to date information about Desert Voices. For more information call the box office at (520) 791-9662.
