Two Upcoming Events At Antigone Books

Please join us for an event at Antigone Books, 411 North Fourth Avenue on Friday, August 29 at 7:00 p.m.:

Katherine Adam, co-author of The New Feminized Majority (Paradigm, $16.95), will read from and discuss her book. For those in the progressive community, Katherine Adam and co-author Charles Derber’s book provides a welcome ray of hope. The authors argue that a rising feminized majority — made up of both women and men — is emerging as a pivotal force in American politics. Characterized by cooperation, empathy, an appreciation for equality, and a preference for nonviolent solutions, this new majority can help Democrats change America for the better.

The reading will be followed by a question and answer period.

Refreshments will be served; and Friday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m., join us for a Chile Relleno Demonstration and Tasting with award winning Chef Janos Wilder of Tucson’s Janos Restaurant and Jbar!

Janos’ recently published The Great Chiles Rellenos Book (Ten Speed, $16.95) offers more than 30 recipes for delicious chiles rellenos, ranging in complexity to suit beginning and expert home cooks alike. He introduces regional Mexican rellenos, then provides contemporary interpretations, with everything from Cheddar Chorizo Poppers to Mango, Apple and Roquefort Rellenos. From choosing the right chiles to serving them up with a flourish, the book provides plenty of inspiration for anyone craving a taste of the Southwest.
