Talk about a “Turnabout,” sequins and boas are back in the “drawers,” and the dresses and gowns have been placed in their closets. Auctions, both silent and loud took place while many were hosed down to clean themselves up from their Jell-O Extravaganza.
This weekend in the Old Pueblo marked two important annual events, “Turnabout” for TIHAN (Tucson Interfaith HIV/AIDS Action Network) and the 21st Annual Reno Gannon Memorial Jell-O Wrestling Extravaganza for SAAF (Southern Arizona AIDS Foundation), fun and fund raisers for the two service organizations.
Both events were to raise awareness and most importantly, funds for each so they can continue their programs and services to the community living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
With the potential budget shortfalls by governmental entities, on the local, county, state and federal levels, SAAF and TIHAN will have to rely more on donations.
So if you didn’t go to either event but still want to take part, go online to TIHAN and Jello Wrestling or SAAF make a donation, you’ll be glad you did and each organization will be grateful for the help.
