Broadway in Tucson/ a Nederlander Presentation proudly announces the 2008/2009 Season, marking the fifth year of presenting Broadway’s best shows downtown at the Tucson Convention Center venues.
The 2008/2009 Season features an eclectic mix of shows with three of Broadway’s contemporary classics alongside two very distinct plays and a stunning tribute show. The season kicks off with RAIN—THE BEATLES EXPERIENCE, a multi-media musical homage to the Fab Four, followed by the family-friendly JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR starring Ted Neeley just in time for the holidays! Stage and screen actor Chazz Palminteri makes his only Arizona stop in Tucson with A BRONX TALE, the play that inspired the Academy Award-winning film. Then comes the revisited production of GREASE, including songs from the hit movie (also making it’s only Arizona stop in Tucson). April brings a much anticipated return of MAMMA MIA!, the musical based on the songbook of ABBA and the season closes with TUNA DOES VEGAS, a heartwarming comedy sensation. In addition to week-long Broadway engagements, Broadway in Tucson welcomes back, by popular demand, songstress Linda Eder and her one-night-only holiday concert on December 16.
